a)以个位计

b)以十位计

c)以百位计

d)以于位计

以上和中国的计数法差不多，但是数到“万”就不同了。英语里没有单独的词表明“万”，而是说“十千”。“两万”的英语是“二十千”，twenty thousand。
e)在hundred和后面的数字之间，在thousand或m进ion和后面的“百”以下的数字之间，澳大利亚英语和英国英语里都要加个and。

c)年份的写法和读法
1983 十位数19实际上是以hundred为单位，也就是公元一千九百年;83表明具体年份。

还有一种说法：
the sixteen hundreds (the 1600s)=the seventeenth century(17th century).
A 47-year-old man指的是过亍四十七周岁的人。
还有一种说法，说某人in his forties/teens,是说这个人四十几岁/十几岁。

t)说几路公共汽车或房间号码，在100以上的通常是把数字分开说。

房间号码在100以下的：
Room 20
- Room twenty
可见说几路公共汽车和房间号码同说一般数字不同。此外，可以说a 412 bus,也可以说the 412 bus(用a或the视上下文而定)。但只能说Room 412。
b)电话号码的读法如下：
98 7543 - Nine eight seven five four three
713 8174 - Seven one three eight one seven four
如果其中有的数字重叠，可以这样说：
99 4786 - Double nine four seven eight six
30 7744 - Three o double seven double four
c)在写地址的时候，汉语是先写区的名称，然后是街道名称，最后是门牌号码。英语恰好相反，顺序是：门牌号码、街道名称、区的`名称。例如：
73 Hay Street, Brighton.
d)数字0(零)的各种读法：
Nought
Zero
O
字母O常用于公共汽车，房间号码，小数等等。
PRONUNCIATION CORNER
数字以-ty结尾的，重音在第一个音节，例如：thirty, forty。以-teen结尾的，用于强调的位置时，重音在第二个音节，例如：Amanda's thirteen;用于名词前面时，重音在第一个音节，例如It's thirteen dollars。你听的时候要很注意，才能听出thirteen等词和thirty等词的区别。
第四部分：歌唱
广播里可以听到中国、澳大利亚、美国、法国的国歌，还可以听到一首简单的数数歌，一首人们常唱的祝贺生日歌，在John过生日的那一天，Barbara就唱这首歌向他祝贺。
